- Assist clinics, insurance companies, and patients with general questions, researching EOBs and denials as necessary
- Handle escalated calls from patients and insurance providers, ensuring all business office voice mail and email is responded to in a timely manner
- Monitor and track department phone statistics and quality customer service, ensuring all calls are answered timely
- Manage Customer Service Department, including hiring and training new staff, setting job responsibilities and priorities, and completing staff performance evaluations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conduct weekly quality assurance audits and provide feedback, coaching, and training to Customer Service Specialists
- Research missed discounts, duplicate charges, and insurance denials, and communicate solutions to the Director, Revenue Cycle Operations
- Knowledge of various payors and understanding of contractual discounts
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with 3-5 years of medical business office experience
- Ability to speak Spanish or bilingual preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and using computer systems, with excellent typing skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, with previous NextGen/Cerner experience and supervisory experience a plus
