About Opus
Opus is a leading recruitment and staffing business in the technology and sustainability sector under its Opus Recruitment and JD Ross brands, and a provider of technology training and entry level talent under its _nology brand across the UK, Australia, US, Netherlands and Spain.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced head of Talent Acquisition from the recruitment sector to lead the internal TA team in the growth of our business across these markets. The role is a member of the People Leadership team working alongside HR Operations, L&D and Systems in the design and delivery of a holistic approach to Talent Acquisition within our business and its divisions.
The role is one of ‘player-coach’ both leading a team of global inhouse Talent Acquisition professionals providing guidance, direction and development, working with our business leaders in both the sales organization and our corporate functions in how we attract and retain diverse talent across our offices globally and being hands on in recruitment delivery.
In this role you will
- Lead the TA team in the design and delivery of our Talent Acquisition needs, managing hiring plans and workload across the team
- Individually own delivery of particular roles from identifying role needs, sourcing and pipelining through to joining and onboarding
- Work with key stakeholders on identifying development needs regarding talent acquisition and delivering interventions where appropriate (e.g. good job design, interview training, networking, D&I developments, process improvement and change)
- Develop talent attraction strategies that resonate in the markets we operate
- Manage the TA teams personal and professional development and delivery against appropriate performance metrics
- Partner with managers on identifying hiring needs, ensuring our requirements are thoughtfully considered and articulated in an inclusive and legally compliant way
People team leadership
- Bring the ‘US’ perspective to discussions
- Work with the wider people team on creating fantastic candidate experiences from the point they express an interest in Opus, their first day experience and the process of onboarding in those initial weeks and months
- Support the CHRO on senior and complex hires
- Work with hiring managers and the People team to evolve our practices and processes across ways of working, approvals and system usage (e.g. ATS and HRIS)
- Actively participate as a member of the People leadership team (particularly HR Ops and L&D) in identifying opportunities and challenges to enhance the Opus experience
- Provide management information as required
Market and stakeholders
- Develop a robust supplier management process where we rely on agency partners ensuring we have good relationships, appropriate terms and documented agreements
- Develop our global talent lead network building and maintaining awareness of future talent and staying connected to our Opus alumni
- Maintain market landscape awareness providing insights on what other companies in our space are doing by way of growth, comp and benefits and strategic direction
What you will need
- Leading and developing a global TA team
- Data evidenced trend analysis to inform decision making (taken together with the insight that comes with experience)
- Strong personal and team organisation skills (particularly in the planning and delivery of our high volume campaigns)
- A global mindset appreciating that we have different humans in different places with different needs (culturally, legally, demographically)
- In depth US recruitment market experience is essential. Global experience would be very much preferred but in the absence of this, demonstrable competency about legal and cultural differences across markets and how one develops and maintains awareness of that is key
- A true belief that TA is part of the People lifecycle and working with the wider People (HR) team enriches that
- Managing high volume, entry level campaigns would be strongly preferred but otherwise, appreciation of how to organize these and manage workload across the teams
- Experience of organisations going through growth related change
- Working across the TA lifecycle in a player-coach role
- A customer-centric approach to delivering great experiences for hiring managers, candidates and new employees
- Confident speaking in front of groups at all levels in different settings (team updates, training, company townhalls etc.)
- The ability to build relationships over virtual channels and in person
- A proactive approach to team development and coaching
