Elearning Instructional Designer - Remote | Wfh

We are an enthusiastic, collaborative, and innovative professional to join our team in the role of Instructional Designer. You will work as an integral part of a fully remote, cross-cultural team alongside a fellow, a Department of Defense client, Foreign Language Subject Matter Experts, military cultural and policy specialists, and other dedicated team members. Together, we aim to craft an advanced foreign language course within an engaging eLearning environment, featuring level 2-3 interactivity as defined by Army Distributed Learning.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the educational effectiveness and instructional integrity of all training materials produced.
Apply adult learning theory principles and foreign language methodology across the communicative spectrum to shape courseware designs.
Collaborate closely with SMEs and team members to create captivating and purpose-driven advanced foreign language learning activities.
Craft intricate branching scenarios and incorporate valuable intrinsic feedback loops.
Utilize established eLearning best practices to engage learners and facilitate knowledge transfer, incorporating simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge assessments into storyboarding.
Contribute actively to instructional design tasks within a multicultural remote team of SMEs and IDs while effectively communicating within the framework of an Army training culture.
Demonstrate impeccable planning and time management skills to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones.
Engage proficiently with team members using technology-based workflow resources like MS Teams, SharePoint, and Asana.
Qualifications And Experience
Previous experience as an eLearning designer/developer with expertise in IMI Level 2-3.
A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or a related field is required. An ideal candidate will have specialization in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology, in addition to a degree in Applied Linguistics, a working knowledge of foreign language learning methodology, or experience in crafting advanced language learning curricula.
Demonstrated cross-cultural adaptability through experience, certifications, or relevant coursework. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of Instructional Design.
Solid understanding of the system for design and evaluation.
Proficiency in articulating ideas effectively and simplifying complex concepts and processes.
Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and experience in diverse cross-cultural environments.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may shift.
Exceptional Attention To Detail, Analytical Skills, And Problem-solving Abilities.
Professional demeanor for interacting with senior-level personnel in both the corporate and government/military sectors.
Submission of level 3 storyboards or a design portfolio is required.
Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for government security clearance.
Desired Experience
Experience in designing distributed learning content for the Army or Army University, particularly in interactive instructional multimedia and game-based design.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and excel in problem-solving.
Prior exposure to a Government contracting environment.
Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, Korean, Russian, or Spanish.
Familiarity with Adobe Captivate.
Familiarity with learning management systems as delivery platforms for eLearning courseware.
The will be expected to adhere to established project processes and deadlines, irrespective of their home base time zone. Collaboration with team members and the creation of project deliverables will be central to this role.
