Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Academic Support Coordinator to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating smooth interactions between various stakeholders including directors, faculty, students, and administrative personnel across the institution.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a liaison between Instruction Directors, Department Chairs, faculty, students, Deans, Associate Deans, College personnel, and the Vice President of Instruction, fostering effective communication and collaboration..
Deliver seamless assistance to students, faculty, and staff across all schools, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and helpful manner.
Contribute to program recruitment and retention objectives by coordinating recruitment activities, producing informative materials, and participating in recruitment events.
Support student retention by offering guidance, recording concerns, and devising solutions in accordance with institutional guidelines.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate contracts and payroll information for faculty and instructors.
Manage class schedules, ensuring accuracy of course information and related details for each semester.
Promote inter-school understanding by clarifying program-specific processes and procedures to instructors and new faculty members.
Maintain and generate reports from databases to support departmental decision-making.
Oversee departmental office supplies purchasing, adhering to established procedures and deadlines.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of clerical experience, demonstrating strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams) and Banner student information system.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with keen attention to detail.
College-level coursework in Business or a related field can be considered in lieu of some clerical experience.
Background check clearance is required for employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Diverse clerical experience involving a wide range of responsibilities.
Familiarity with Banner or similar systems.
High accuracy and speed in data entry.
Problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Previous experience in Higher Education, particularly within a community college setting.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with databases.
Ability to navigate complex rules and regulations and extract relevant information from reports.
Prior experience in purchasing supplies and services.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population tactfully.
