Graham Packaging is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Learning and Organizational Development to join our organization. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, the Director will collaborate with HR and senior business leaders to identify organizational needs, challenges, and opportunities, and develop solutions to ensure alignment and optimal impact of initiatives.
This is an exciting roll up your sleeves position where you will collaborate with senior leaders and various stakeholders to develop and implement talent strategies, programs, and processes that optimize our organization's culture, efficiency, employee engagement, and talent development to help bridge the gap between current and future state in these key areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Organizational Development
- Partner with the DE&I Council to create alignment with the Talent/Learning & DE&I vision and roadmap to enhance overall organizational performance.
- Lead and develop a team of professionals that supports the continual professional growth for individual, team and organizational success.
- Assess organizational structures, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and implement organization development strategies, frameworks, and programs to drive organizational performance and achieve business goals.
- Design and implement highly effective and results driven talent management and development strategies and programs, including performance management, goal setting, DE&I, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Analyze data and metrics related to organizational effectiveness and develop action plans and recommendations based on findings.
- Lead and drive Graham culture transformation and impactful employee engagement initiatives to create a constructive work culture of excellence and accountability to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Lead change management initiatives and provide guidance and support to leaders and employees during periods of organizational change.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging research in organization effectiveness and talent management, and apply relevant insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with HR and other relevant departments to align organization effectiveness initiatives with overall talent management, learning and development, and employee engagement strategies.
- Conduct organizational assessments, including employee surveys and feedback mechanisms, to gather insights and data on organizational effectiveness and employee experience. Lead the results communication efforts and action planning process.
- Collaborate with HR colleagues and senior business leaders to identify organizational needs, challenges, and opportunities, and develop solutions to address them effectively.
Learning Program Design and Strategy
- Partner with the Technical Training Team to support the strategy and equipment training initiatives for the plant workforce.
- Design, manage and implement learning programs that address the identified needs and promote employee growth.
- Identify training needs through assessments, performance evaluations, and consultation with key stakeholders.
- Develop a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Direct and design the development and implementation of new formal and informal learning strategies, programs, and products to address performance and operational needs.
Curriculum Development
- Utilize various instructional design methodologies and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
- Create and oversee the development of engaging and effective learning materials, including instructor-led training, e-learning modules, job aids, and other resources.
Training Delivery and Facilitation
- Serve as a subject matter expert and facilitator for organizational interventions, leadership development, technical skills training, and other relevant topics.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually, to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Foster an interactive and participatory learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and active engagement.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of organization development and training theories, models, and methodologies.
- Knowledge and/or certification in Korn Ferry competency model and tools preferred.
- Amazing ability to lead a team and create a constructive culture of excellence and accountability to drive inclusion, creativity and forward-thinking action.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and presentation and learning softwares and systems. Experience managing Litmos LMS a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and demands. Strong bias towards action with the ability to balance the strategic and tactical elements of the role.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and achieving business objectives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decision-making and measure impact.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing organization effectiveness initiatives, including change management, performance management, and talent development programs as well as effective training programs.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
- 10 years of proven experience in a role focused on organization effectiveness, talent management, Training or organizational development.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
The standard compensation for this role is $170,400 - $201,300. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.
Compensation Statement
The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
