Director, Communications & Community Jobs

DIRECTV is seeking a Director of Communications & Community responsible for managing and leading the development and design of highly complex communications programs concerning the company and cross-functional communications planning. This strategic leader supports company-wide organic media planning, execution, and performance in close coordination with organic traffic and marketing teams. Additionally, this leader will oversee the development and implementation of Communications and Community organization-wide initiatives and programs.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Identify and help solve core problems or opportunities within business processes.
• Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance.
• Design and develop standards for communications success. Develop and monitor metrics to measure the reach and impact of communications and to identify areas of success and opportunity.
• Ensure alignment and consistency with brand strategy and local execution.
• Engage with senior executives and business leaders to develop key messaging, themes/topics, style/tone, target audiences, and appropriate communications channels.
• Work with leadership to deliver, monitor, and communicate progress towards goals.
• Create and manage monthly business review with Communications & Community team, as well as weekly report coordination for ExCo.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead meetings and workshops.
• Incorporate and facilitate the creation of multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and infographics.
• Cross-coordination of editorial planning, asset creation front-door, and performance tracking of organic media supporting earned, social, and owned media teams.
• Collaborate with team members to determine and prioritize business strategies.
• Create and manage systems and coordination planning, strategy meetings, and presentations to ensure alignment across teams.
• Identify and provide recommendations on improvements across the organization.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Typically, 5 - 8 years of experience in public relations, employee communications or other communications-related fields including executive communications position, serving senior executives; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to work with executive and senior leadership confidently displaying excellent negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management skills including the ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing projects.
• Ability to create and deliver leadership messages and develop compelling stories about departmental activities for a mass audience.
• Familiar with DIRECTV Business Units as a current or previous employee (within 1 year) required for this role.
• Strong, adaptable written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated ability to write effectively in a variety of styles including text messages, emails, blogs, newsletters, videos, and speeches.

This role requires a minimum, but is not limited to, approximately 25% travel.

This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

DIRECTV WAGE ZONES: $105,830 - $192,050

Low (N1): $105,830 - $158,650

Mid (N2): $111,400 - $167,000

High (N3): $122,540 - $183,700

Top (N4): $128,110 - $192,050
