Job Description
Summary:
The Coordinator, Tournament Relations liaises with tournaments to provide tournament membership with appropriate resources, benefits, support and guidance. Establishes centralized education, training, best practices and data, fostering organizational and event efficiencies. The role will require administrative support of tournaments and member programs as well as performing some onsite liaison role between tournament staff and WTA staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Report to VP of Tournament Relations and liaise with TR team to understand and be knowledgeable on WTA strategic plan and goals
  • Coordinate Tournament Awards and Anniversaries
  • Send tournaments the most updated Marketing & Branding guidelines/ manual/ campaign for their asset preparation and final execution
  • Prepare the CEO Letters for all tournament categories for tournament program/ magazine (1000, 500, 250, 125) ; work in conjunction with Communications.
  • Utilize this knowledge and emotional intelligence/skills to coordinate the business issue communication and be a contributor to solving issues.
  • Administrative:
  • Manage WTA Ads specifications to all tournaments for their programs, coordinating WTA side with Creative team for final production
  • Serve as the primary liaison for WTA TV subscription
  • UNO, CES tournament education, on-boarding, troubleshooting
  • Communicate & report back to TR Regional Director when traveling at a tournament regarding standards, business operational issues, member, stakeholder and staff issues
  • A. Participate in weekly staff meetings, providing onsite player feedback and delivery key education topics and resources
  • Coordinate the implementation of Tournament Relations related initiatives, including but not limited to:
  • Work closely with Tournament Relations & Supervisors team to review, track and communicate issues regarding Tournament standards post events
  • Communicate, plan, troubleshoot with Crionet team, VP of 125 Operations, the pre-tournament business operations requirements for the 125 tournaments (live scoring, streaming setup, production requirements, etc.)
  • Research and communicate travel/visa regulations, restrictions that may affect normal operations for tournaments, players, WTA staff, WTA partners/vendors, etc.
  • Ad hoc research/projects as per tournament membership needs within Tournament Relations (best practices, orientation courses, tournament standards & operations manual, etc.)
  • Plan, coordinate with vendor and tournaments the distribution of tournament net signs (1000, 500, 250, 125)
b. Completion/submission of related onsite reports, expenses
  • Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years business communications experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years professional or University tennis experience preferred
  • Proficient with WTA Rules and conversant in the ITF Rules of Tennis.

  • A team player who respects and interacts well with members being served.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to debate issues, drawing from a broad knowledge base.
  • Adapts easily and shows initiative
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Multi-lingual strongly preferred
  • Computer skills using word processing, excel, publishing & graphics, and email programs
Travel Requirements:
Up to 25% Domestic and International locations
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Type/Work Schedule:
Full Time, 40 hours a week. Typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, plus weekend travel and response to onsite/event driven needs as required for events.
