Job Description

Location: This position may be based out of the Atlanta, GA, (headquarters) or a remote office. Atlanta based preferred.


MISSION / SUMMARY:


Organization’s top sales executive responsible for overseeing the Sales function of the Mills Division. Directs the sale of all the organization’s products, and oversees all channels used to deliver the product to market. Develops the long-range sales strategy and forecasts sales volumes for the Mills organization. As the Vice President of Sales - Board you will be reporting directly to the Mill Division Senior Vice President - Board Sales, Customer Service & Quality.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Develop plans and strategies for business growth and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Define sales processes that drive desired sales outcomes and identify improvements where and when required
  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships
  • Hire and develop sales staff
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting
  • Define optimal sales force structure
  • Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
  • Create an environment that is considered to be an employer of choice and a sales force that top salespeople want to join
  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Manage the use of budgets
  • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement – possibly more important than the first item on this list
  • Implement infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Manage the sales teams, operations, and resources to deliver profitable growth
  • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives

REQUIRED: EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent required. Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in Sales

SKILLS:

  • Communication skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information and ideas to the sales team, clients, and stakeholders
  • Must be well organized, analytical, decisive, action oriented and a team player
  • Analytical skills: Must be able to analyze sales data and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Relationship-building skills: Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Problem-solving skills: Must have strong problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges and opportunities in the sales process and help customers solve their business and operational problems
  • Proven safety leadership along with working knowledge of OSHA requirements and ability to combine exceptional compliance with ease of operations
  • Adaptability: Must be able to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs, and be able to pivot sales strategies as needed
