Assistant Manager, Business Development Description/Job Summary
- Maintain deal and case experience;help manage the Firm’s engagement database and across related channels
- Assist with managing Firm-sponsored events and presentations
- Manage creation of advertising, posters, flyers and other promotional materials, working with the Graphic Designer and outside vendors where appropriate
- Prepare and maintain promotional materials, including brochures, practice area descriptions, rankings and quotes
- Provide competitive intelligence reports and analysis
- Perform various business and operational support functions as related to Business Development strategies, marketing, communications, policies, procedures and initiatives for the Firm’s corporate and litgiation departments
- Maintain website content, Partner biographies and various Business Development communications materials across multiple channels
- Foster and maintain strong relations with key stakeholders; ensure stakeholders’ engagement is supported in varied departments and offices
- Help design and implement practice and industry-related initiatives
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Support Business Development projects and other Firm initiatives as needed
- Prepare and manage directory submissions and survey responses for various legal and business directories/publications
- Draft pitch and proposal materials
- Strong project management and organizational skills,
- Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively share knowledge and resources with appropriate parties, both internally and externally
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and web-based research
- Must be flexible and willing to work additional hours as needed
- Ability to interact well and build professional relationships while maintaining a high level of customer service, diplomacy and discretion
- Ability to anticipates business challenges of Partners and Senior team members and proactively address needs with self-assuredness and business acumen
- Excellent research and analytical abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills to make sound decisions, escalating as appropriate
- Ability to assess needs, assign priorities, develop strategies and make recommendations when presented with ambiguous or incomplete information
- Some familiarity with Content Pilot’s suite of products or other experience database preferred
- Prior experience in marketing and business development field at a law firm preferred
- Experience with website maintenance and or Client Relationship Management (CRM) system experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Major in Marketing, English, Communications, Advertising or related field preferred
- J.D. preferred
