Job Description

Title: Business Development Manager

Industry: Environmental Services | Construction

Location: Florida

Reports to: VP of Business Development

Work Environment: Hybrid (Must currently reside in Florida)


The Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven Business Development experience and strong client relations with General Contractors. Construction, Environmental Services or Specialty Contractor experience (Preferred)

Overview

Champion relationship building and sales activity in assigned territory. Seek out and bid on projects typical of Company’s business lines. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with new and existing customers. Manage overall performance of assigned projects from start to finish as assigned.


Essential Position Responsibilities


  • Utilize strategic account planning and sales pipeline management tools.
  • Maintain and build the company brand, to be consistent with other company offices, in all territories.
  • Participate in industry and community organizations as necessary.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures and assist the team in support of the Core business.
  • Assist in being a liaison between the operations team and customers to ensure successful project completion, good communication, and client satisfaction.
  • Identify key influencers and strategic development plans.
  • Create strategic approaches to project planning, pricing, proposal writing, negotiating, and project management.
  • Assist in collections when a client is paying outside of normal and agreed terms.
  • Follow a proven sales process that includes prospecting, qualifying, targeting, identifying customer needs, developing value propositions, presenting solutions and alternatives, and creating project opportunities.
  • Develop new business accounts and expand existing customer relationships to secure major contracts.
  • Identify prospects and sell environmental remediation jobs typical of our company in the assigned area or other new markets we agree to pursue with an emphasis on federal government projects.
  • Evaluate site conditions, challenges, and opportunities for projects.
  • Assist the estimating teams with take-offs, submittals, and general oversight.
  • Maintain knowledge of marketplace issues, industry trends, competitive information, customer expectations, public policy, and other market drivers.
  • Establish market position in target market segments through customer interaction, trade association participation and leadership, industry networking, webinars, and other market engagement activities.
  • Participate in organized team calls as scheduled.
  • Penetrate at all levels up to and including executive level managers and purchasers at federal government entities to secure critical relationships.
