ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This newly created position is based in New York, NY and reports to the Senior Director Business Development & Key Initiatives.The Manager, Business Development & Key Initiatives will contribute to activation elements for our Key Initiatives to help scale our Elite Basketball Experiences (EBX), drive early engagement of future and current 450 members, and enable us to scale international opportunities.
The Manager, Business Development & Key Initiatives will be responsible for event activation and supporting the development and execution of two key areas for THINK450:
1) Revenue Growth – Develop and drive business for NBPA facility events and generate event sponsorship and event revenue opportunities. Create/Produce new business development initiatives that grow our brand through experiential programs and partnerships using our state-of- the-art facility and in market with brands.
2) Key Initiatives and Elite Basketball Experiences – Focus on executing basketball events, and new programs, producing high profile experiences, and partnership opportunities that generate new business while driving impact, revenue growth, engage our members, and builds the NBPA brand.

SALARY RANGE: $88,000 - $92,000
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Revenue Generation
·Build marketing materials and collateral for sales calls, and partnership pitches and sponsorship outreach.
·Generate facility event rental revenue through various outreach channels.
·Create event target lists/prospects and manage outreach to generate new business.
·Manage program registrations and paid enrollment for NBPA Camps, Clinics, Tournaments and other Elite Youth Basketball training experiences.
Elite Basketball Experiences & Facility Events
●Responsible for executing 3rd Party facility events including NBPA Grassroots youth basketball programs and NBPA court rental experiences.
●Manage event logistics which may include supporting vendor load in/load out, creating guest lists, registration process, waiver management, set up/breakdown etc.
●Work with event planners, vendors, clients and the internal Operations department on providing event insurance documents, permits, Insurance/COIs, securing caterer, alcohol permits, vendor code of conduct forms, audio and visual setup and needs.
●Manage database growth across all events, programs and activities, as well as identifying and executing additional onboarding opportunities to grow brand awareness and following.
●Maintain a master database of participants’ information in CRM system.
●Disseminate events calendar and recaps.
Department & Operational Functions
·Log and track program or event expenses. Manage invoices and payment process for vendors with finance and department administrative support staff. Process invoices with the finance department, while managing costs against individual project budgets.
·Manage customer service and fulfillment efforts relative to event participants.
·Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across all NBPA departments to develop new programs.
·Manage event logistics and assist with event execution for revenue generating NBPA elite youth basketball experiences, camps, clinics, tournaments, third-party NBPA facility events, and other new business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Key Experiences / Achievements
●Minimum of 4 years direct experience in NBA marketing, sales, fan development, marketing partnerships and sponsorships, field marketing and revenue generation programs.
●Bachelor's Degree Required.
●Working knowledge of strategic marketing, sponsorships, and promotions.
●A deep understanding and linkage to national grassroots community-based organizations (CBOs), grassroots, public sector agencies and key youth basketball organizations.
●Knowledge/proven experience of how to generate revenue to support programs.
●The ability to develop and maintain business relationships to achieve business objectives.
●Experience in budget and expense management.
2. Management Skills
●Ability to work with and manage high profile talent, NBA players, alumni and legends.
●Understanding of the sports environment and league relationships.
●Capable of strategic planning, ownership, and execution of programs.
●Understanding of sports environment with professional basketball specialization.
●Proven ability to manage staff and work within a team environment.
3. Technical / Functional Competencies
●Excellent oral communication skills, sharp analytical skills, good judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high demands and tight time constraints.
●A proven track record implementing sports related community projects.
●Knowledge of the NBA, WNBA, G-League, and basketball industry.
●Proven ability in developing marketing and promotional programs.
