Technical Sales Representative Jobs

Job Purpose

EnerSys is seeking a qualified Technical Sales Representative to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. The Technical Sales Representative will have a passion for success, strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and go-getter with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. The ideal candidate must live in Sacramento, California due to frequent travel within this area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Consistently exceed your sales quota by retaining, growing, and prospecting clients within your account territory.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
• Willingness to travel nationally on a frequent basis.
• Other activities include proposals, pricing, presentations, forecasting, program management, and other duties as required.
• The primary duty is to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters.
• All other duties may be assigned.
• Independently and collaboratively strategize for solving deal-level challenges.
• Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with key personnel for product development and sales.
• Use product knowledge in conjunction with knowledge of customers’ project objectives to develop unique value propositions supported by financial impact analysis and feasibility studies.
• A drive for self-education and learning new products, services, and business processes.
• Use Salesforce for customer relationship management activities.
• Identify the right customer stakeholders and build connections quickly to drive consensus for deals; works cooperatively with wide range of internal stakeholders for deal success.

Qualifications

To perform the Technical Sales Representative job successfully, an individual must have prior experience in sales. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill, and/or abilities required. Minimum Qualifications

• At least 2-5 years of sales experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read and comprehend manuals, procedures, and other written documents written in English.

Driving Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations.
• Able and willing to do overnight travel up to 50% of the time.
• Able and willing to travel to customer sites.
• Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific industry sales experience is a plus, especially a proven track record of success selling advanced battery chemistries.
• A college degree is preferred.
