R6 DISTILLERY was established in 2014 after Rob Rubens, the Founder, fell in love with the art of distilling during his unplanned trip to Old New Orleans Rum distillery.He knew it was time for a change.After spending the better part of a decade in corporate America and realizing that was not his path, Rob visited distilleries and breweries across the country and decided it was time to make waves.Coupling his experience with his desire to make quality spirits, Rob opened a speakeasy inspired distillery for everyone to enjoy.

R6 is a family and veteran owned distillery in El Segundo, California, just south of Los Angeles International Airport.As a grain-to-glass distillery, R6 focuses on locally sourced, high-quality ingredients.R6 maintains close relationships with their farmers, giving back spent grain for cattle feed to the farms.R6 is a true representation of a California Spirits Company ~ Grain + Location + Community. R6 does spirits right by not cutting any corners, while creating a space for other entrepreneurs to create custom crafted spirits and ready-to-drink beverages.R6 also represents many other purpose driven companies through the sourcing process, TTB development, production, and distribution with White/Private Label production.R6 has created recipes for dozens of award-winning spirits and non-alcoholic beverage brands.

Our Distillery Sales Representative (DSR) candidate will have wine/spirits and/or hospitality experience. Candidates with previous experience in Adult Beverage are encouraged to apply.

Reporting: The DSR reports directly to the National Sales Manager.

DSR Key Roles: 

Distribution, Merchandising and Key Account Representation

  • Call on key accounts on an ongoing basis to expand our brand exposure in our backyard of Los Angeles City and surrounding communities.
  • Accountable for driving distribution efforts in identified target accounts and developing new prospects within assigned territory.
  • Growing our KPI directives in assigned territory and additional tasting and demo events.
  • Secure back-bar distribution, grow our well programming directives, brand visibility, and finding impactful menu placement in target accounts to enhance consumer pull through, ROI, and rate-of-sale.
  • Drive sales at the account level, while fostering and building a reputable relationship with all accounts.
  • Collaborate with accounts and distributor partners with effective merchandising of our products through proper shelf management and brand visibility. While ensuring brand marketing materials and displays are utilized within your assigned account base.
  • Responsible for utilizing our company’s web-based platform for appropriate record keeping of all sales achievements, quotas, and incentives.
  • Train account staff and distributor sales representatives on brand attributes and selling points.


Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with our trade partners, the bartending community, distributors, and local market influencers.
  • Collaborate with distributor on brand and sales objectives, through ride-withs, team meetings, and general sales meetings.


Education and Training

  • Finding the balance of key accounts ranging from the top tier mixology influenced accounts – to local ma & pop retail accounts that play a vital role in our California Spirits Portfolio in both (both on and off-premises).
  • Develop and manage spirits educational classes for key accounts, regional representative accounts, and consumers.
  • Conduct product education / samplings, educate store personnel and consumers and complete post sampling recap.


Events & Activation

  • Help source consumer and trade events to generate trial and awareness of our brands, while appropriately integrating the appropriate brand messaging and experience.
  • Set up and attend brand building promotions, on/off-premises and special events (retailer & consumer demo’s, bar samplings, brand launches, cocktail contests, dinner pairings, etc.)
  • Develop, maintain and promote specialty cocktails for each of our brands, our accounts, and PR efforts via social media.


Local Market Insights

  • Monitor and report competitive activity, brand movement, pricing, and distribution penetration and highlight opportunities to Marketing and Sales team.

Qualifications, Key Requirements and Skills

  • Able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with proven track record of achievement.
  • Resourceful, creative and organized with ability to manage timelines, budgets and event logistics.
  • A willingness to work full-time, non-traditional, late-night hours as required and travel throughout assigned territory and occasionally beyond.
  • Physical capabilities necessary to complete duties of the job. Repetitious sitting, bending, kneeling and lifting +50lbs.
  • Passion for local, artisanal and craft spirits.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and influence others (accounts, bartenders, and distributor teams).
  • Must be reliable and possess a high level of work ethic to go above and beyond to accomplish goals.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office Suite, VIP and Monday work management platform.
  • Self-starter mentality with an “I-can-do” attitude.
  • Excellent communication and selling skills (both verbal and written).


Preferred Skills

  • On and off-premises sales, marketing, or promotion experience in the local market.
  • Recognized and having credibility in the local mixology / bartending / restaurant community is a plus.
  • Existing relationships with top accounts in the local market


Salary and Additional Compensation

  • 401K (no-match), Monthly reimbursement for medical, T&E allowance provided.
  • Base Salary: $55,000, +20% quarterly bonus & additional KPI incentives
