Technical Marketing Specialist [Vendor Contract; Remote]
MTP is looking for a skilled Artist & Industry Marketing Specialist with experience in tech/consulting/finance/strategy for our client in the media production industry.
Location: Remote
Salary: $100,000-140,000
Start date: July 1(but can start ASAP)
In this role, you will create, manage and assess the performance of various programs that are designed to inspire the Music Industry to grow their artist’s careers with Short-form content and other media products.
You will support a team of Product Marketing Managers and work very closely with cross-functional teams in the music and creator departments (Music Partnerships, Business Development, Product Management, PR, Legal, Engineering, Music Solutions, Partner Experiences, Program Managers, and more.) You will also need to build relationships with music industry partners to better understand their needs and goals.
Examples of projects:
- Artist Website Updates: Help keep artist website up to date with the latest content and maintain it as a valuable resource for our music industry partners.
- Short-Form Content Activations - Build and/or manage music industry marketing programs (i.e. B2B marketing campaigns) that accelerate short-form content adoption amongst artists and their teams. In this role, you will lead project management across cross-functional teams and music industry partners for some of our priority industry programs (including educational events, a potential Awards Show for our Music industry partners, etc). You will find creative ways to engage the industry and educate them on this new product (and other products) by working closely with internal product marketers, go-to-market strategists, cross-functional teams, and an external creative agency.
- Project Innovation & General Project Management - Our team’s work evolves as rapidly as music culture. There is a great opportunity to create new projects that help us increase the music industry’s investment in specific media platforms. As new projects are launched, you will define goals, lead cross-functional teams, analyze competition, manage timelines, measure success, and more.
- Marketing Claims & Narrative Operations - Work closely with Product Marketing Managers and cross-functional teams to build narratives for this client's products and bring them to market. You will also help identify powerful marketing claims and proof points surrounding YouTube’s products that can be delivered to the music industry. Also, work closely with the music industry to better understand how they’re using our products.
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications: (All skills, both technical and soft, required to be successful in the role)
- Deep interest in the online music industry, online video, and media platforms.
- Experience in project management
- Ability to translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive communications
- BA (Marketing/Comms, Journalism, Editorial/Curation) or MBA degree
- Ability to be proactive, autonomous, and organized to mobilize cross-functional teams toward business solutions.
- 4-7+ years of related experience, ideally in the music/media industry
- Good understanding of traditional and digital media landscape and trends (especially digital marketing & analytics)
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications: (Skills that would be nice to have but are not essential in the role)
- Experience producing events & experiences (ideally including virtual events & experiences)
- SQL and/or data science and/or data research experience
