The Senior Manager – Capacity Planning is responsible for overseeing operations in regard to the capacity needed for changing demands in the customer account. The employee in this role must understand how the business operates and plans for future capacity requirements. They will undertake planning activities to ensure targets are met and optimize efficiency, stock levels, and costs.

- Partners in the development of scheduling tools to increase the level of automation and reduce the manual nature of the Scheduling function
- Monitors key manufacturing processes for capacity and demand, identifies capacity constraints, and provides analysis
- Partners with leadership to refine systems and methods to continually improve plans so that the organization can better anticipate customer needs
- Works with business leadership to reserve capacity as necessary; Develops capacity planning services for the organization
- Creates weekly/monthly reports and KPI’s
- Leads capacity planning activities, ensuring delivery against operational requirements and which optimize manufacturing efficiency and costs
- Other duties as required and assigned
- Assesses existing capacity and develops operational plans and forecasts based on future plans for demand; Manages deviations from the plans that have financial impact
- Leads weekly/monthly Master Production Schedule meetings with internal and external customers
- Serves as a liaison between all organizations to achieve on time delivery
- Provides guidance and expertise to develop team knowledge relative to production schedule(s) optimization for the Business Unit(s)
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of labor management systems
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with both inbound and outbound international shipments preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
- Experience with storage and shipment of food grade items preferred
Essential Skills:
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, willingness to roll up your sleeves
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data (including SQL) and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom
Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, and is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
