What You Will Be Doing

You will be instrumental in developing the spare parts and vehicle repair strategies supporting ZEEKR’s warranty, service, collision, and maintenance requirements. You will lean heavily on your in-depth working knowledge of battery electric vehicle (BEV) hardware, features, specifications, and technology. You will also rely on your expertise in material planning, logistics, supply chain management concepts, ERP systems, and warehouse optimization.

Your team will be responsible for monitoring operational efficiencies and expenses by warehousing parts on an as-needed basis while ensuring accurate inventory records and adequate stocking levels. You will also have a direct role in creating and evolving Technician curriculum and training – ensuring the proper knowledge and skills are obtained and the right systems and tools are in place across ZEEKR’s network of US workshops.

  • Subject matter expert (SME) on service repair strategies and diagnostics (detection and remedies) including special service tools needed to diagnose and perform repairs
  • Synchronize with engineering and internal inventory control team members to manage balance outs and BOM running changes to minimize obsolescence or excess stock
  • Collaboration with ZEEKR and CEVT vehicle product development and engineering; share learnings to improve performance and minimize vehicle downtime
  • Drive optimization in spare parts assortment to reduce inventory costs, mitigate premium freight expenses, enhance overall profitability, and achieve accurate inventory records and appropriate stocking levels
  • Verify and validate the highest quality technical solutions prior to implementation
  • Assist with the implementation of alternative parts supply strategies and sourcing, to include remanufacturing, refurbishment, or re-use of select components
  • Liaise with parts inventory coordinator(s) to stock repair and consumable parts and supplies as needed based on vehicle service bill of materials (BOMs)
  • Ensure all workshop activities adhere to ZEEKR’s safety and quality standards
  • Ensure the technical solution is synchronized with stakeholders across the full value chain
  • Develop, adapt, and document repair methods and standard labor times on component, system, and vehicle levels
  • Lead the design and implementation of spare parts and technical repairs solutions

What Skills & Experiences You Will Need

Required skills:

  • At least 10 years of Service Engineering, Repair Product Planning, or similar experience at an OEM or automotive aftermarket supplier
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

  • Automotive industry or Tech start-up experience
  • Ability to adapt and work in rapidly changing, white space environment with undefined solutions
  • Experience with Vehicle and/or Parts Logistics – importing, customs, warehousing
  • Proficiency with English and Chinese languages, with either as native language
  • Comfortable handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant hands-on work experience in an automotive workshop environment (independent shop or dealership)
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Familiarity with BEV architecture, hardware, and systems

This position is open for Remote work, although preferred to be based nearby Detroit, Michigan or the San Francisco Bay area.
