We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Capacity Planning Specialist to be part of our infrastructure cloud capacity planning team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of capacity plans for Azure, considering various elements like space, power, networking, and SKU availability. Your expertise in supply chain planning and exceptional data analysis skills will be instrumental in driving the success of our cloud services and enabling seamless customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact and engage with multiple teams, including supply chain, data center space management, hardware supply management, deployment project managers, SKU team, and networking, to effectively manage and resolve capacity planning issues.
- Metrics and Reporting: Generate and manage impactful metrics and reporting to evaluate planning accuracy, identify supply-demand gaps, and guide decision-making. Your analytical insights will be crucial in driving data-driven strategies.
- Data Management and Analysis: Utilize your exceptional Excel skills to manage and analyze large datasets, create pivot tables, and extract insights from SQL data sources. Experience with Power BI will be a plus to visualize data and uncover valuable trends.
- Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analysis for any escalations related to capacity planning challenges. Implement corrective actions, process improvements, and provide training to optimize planning accuracy and efficiency.
- Capacity Planning Execution: Collaborate closely with the operations team to assess the feasibility of capacity plans and trigger their execution. You will play a key role in ensuring the availability and readiness of essential resources for Azure's rapid expansion.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain planning or transaction management, preferably within the cloud infrastructure or computer hardware industry.
- Exceptional Excel skills for managing and manipulating large datasets, with the ability to build pivot tables and extract data from SQL sources.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
- In-depth understanding and application of key inventory management concepts, such as Supply Commit, Clear to Build, Open to Buy, WOS (Weeks of Supply), and inventory turns.
