Marketing/PR agency experience working with pharma/healthcare accounts strongly preferred.
Job Summary
The Senior Director maintains positive client relationships with a focus on achieving brand goals and maximizing the reach of the authentic Advocate voice, while also supporting the Reverba team and fulfilling Reverba business objectives. This role serves as the senior account lead with strategic oversight of the day-to-day client relations and account management function for healthcare clients. The Senior Director will train new team members and manage both individual and team performance. The position may require travel.
Essential Job Functions
The Senior Director has several areas of responsibility including account management, people management and strategic planning. This position leads the tactical execution of the goals of an account, develops and implements strategies for the successful growth of voluntary patient Advocate networks, and works with the Engagement Lead to proactively engage the client in relevant discussions that apply network information to business needs. Responsibilities include:
Account Management
- Promotes operational excellence; able to manage tight timelines and budgets and address gaps where help is needed
- Serves as the senior liaison (Engagement Lead) between the company account team and the client for small and mid-sized accounts
- Prepares annual SOQ/budget and corresponding staffing plan; manages the process of change in scope; prepares monthly and quarterly financial tracking topics
- Manages the day-today objectives of voluntary patient Advocate networks: infrastructure, recruitment, maintenance, communication and engagement
- Anticipates client needs and proactively addresses issues with client and agency partners
- Possesses strong financial management skills including developing and managing project budgets, invoicing, forecasting and utilization
- Orchestrates resources to deliver against proposed plan and course corrects as needed to promote efficiencies and recognize deficiencies
- Manages and builds relationships with clients’ key partner agencies
People Management
- May participate in recruitment in the interview process
- Motivates and leads the account team; assures a high level or performance and accuracy on behalf of clients; evaluates performance and skill level of team and recommends staffing assignments and training/coaching as necessary to support client needs
- Advocates for quality control; actively participates in documentation creation by reviewing materials for accuracy and relevance
- Ensures that the appropriate manager acts at the right time
- Participates in and training of new team members
Strategic Planning
- Develops business within the context of existing client project work
- Understands the competitive and changing regulatory landscape
- Acts as focal point for internal cross-functional teams
- Understands client positioning and strategy; has solid brand, category and competitive knowledge
- Looks for new business opportunities; understands what makes brands/companies good potential prospects and partners
- Contributes to strategy-oriented intellectual capital for clients and the internal organization
Other Duties
The Senior Director is required to account for their time through the company time management program. This position is expected to work 80% on account work and 20% or less on administrative tasks not related to client work. Some travel will be required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- B.A. in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
- Strong team leader
- At least 1 year of experience managing 1 or more direct reports
- Ability to work with a team or independently as needed
- At least 8-10 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical marketing, public relations or affairs, advocacy relations and/or health care; large agency experience a plus
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior client / customer service skill
Work Environment
This job may operate in a professional office environment or may be remote if not within 50 miles of a Reverba office location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
