Job Description

The Director, Strategic Planning will play a critical role on accounts guiding both clients and internal teams. We’re looking for someone with a passion for and deep understanding of behavioral science, pharmaceutical trends, public health trends, and whom can serve as both a strong leader as well as a willing doer.


About the Job:

  • Drives creative brief development
  • Owns 3-5 strategic client engagements with minimal oversight from senior leadership and direct contact with client counterparts
  • Drives new business engagement, including organic growth, when required, with minimal oversight from leadership
  • Develops and publishes thought-leadership
  • Cultivates/supervises junior talent
  • Expertise in strategic planning tools and core competencies: primary research methodologies, secondary research methodologies, positioning, creative briefing, brand/business planning, ideation, brand identity, consumer journeys, and segmentation approaches
  • Moderates and facilitates high-level, interactive strategic conversations with large groups of clients at meetings or in workshop settings
  • Leads and/or contributes to annual brand/business planning
  • Ensures appropriate scoping of strategic projects
  • Holds deep understanding of the marketplace, competition, and how products/portfolios fit in
  • Drives ideation to uncover strategic opportunities
  • Manages and guides research partners, as well as, develops research methodologies and stimuli
  • Translates findings into insights to fuel strategic communication and great creative


About You:

  • Understanding and interest in behavioral science
  • Values an evidence-based approach to work
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience communicating information verbally and in writing required
  • Experience with both pharmaceutical and public health clients and brands
  • Working knowledge of research methodologies required
  • Expertise in PowerPoint
  • Experience leading workshops and facilitating brainstorming sessions
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Must have a passion for healthcare topics and brands, in particular public health
  • 6-8 years of experience in a strategy role in an agency setting
  • Experience working and managing global and local client relationships
  • At least five years related experience required
  • Proven expertise is brand positioning, insight generation, and creative brief writing

Salary


$140,000 - $161,000 annually.


The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
