About The Role


As Blue Bottle continues to write a new chapter to the traditions of coffee and hospitality, our Sr. Manager, Talent Management will play a key role in supporting our exceptional growth. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of performance, talent management, development, and onboarding programs which are culturally aligned and foster a high-performance workforce. It will successfully align these programs to business & people strategy, and cultivate the growth of our teams. This role’s scope stretches across all Blue Bottle environments globally (Cafes, G&A, and Production), reporting to the Chief People Officer with dotted-line accountability to the Chief Operating Officer.


You Will


  • Build an end-to-end onboarding experience that quickly ramps up our new hires to establish expectations and provide them the knowledge and tools to understand the BBC culture and successfully contribute in a rapid fashion
  • Launch company-wide leadership competency framework and leadership development programs including coaching, team development, leadership assessments, classroom and virtual learning, train-the-trainer programs, and continuous learning opportunities
  • Partner with People Business Partners and department managers in diagnosing learning and development needs for individuals and team development
  • Act as a thought leader and consultant to internal partners to support change management and to drive operational excellence
  • In partnership with CPO and ELT, establish a Global Talent Management framework and drive execution in partnership with GEO People Partner Leaders' role in talent planning and career development for high-performing, high-potential team members
  • In partnership with CPO and key stakeholders, develop a systematic approach to defining performance requirements, identifying gaps between existing and required performance and behaviors, analyzing the causes and factors that limit performance, and partnering on solutions
  • Drive various leadership development initiatives to build an internal leadership bench that supports the future of Blue Bottle Coffee's capabilities
  • Help research, aggregate, and synthesize information from various sources inclusive of Nestle materials and resources (quantitative and qualitative) in service of the key priorities
  • Establish a global framework for all team members and leaders to follow to establish annual goals and a mechanism to track performance. In doing so, ensure participants understand how performance and learning programs related to organizational and department goals and performance
  • Continuously monitor and solicit feedback on all learning programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness
  • Manage & develop a team of learning experience designers and program managers to design programs needed to support each department's business objectives

You Have


  • Creative problem-solving skills, cross-functional collaboration know-how, and rapid execution mindset
  • 5+ years developing learning strategies/roadmaps, content in a variety of formats, and evaluations that measure what is working vs. what is not
  • 8+ years of experience in leading teams and/or a combination of education and experience in related fields
  • Experience building a culture of collaboration, innovation, and execution in an often ambiguous environment
  • Superior consulting, coaching, influence management, and networking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, so that the learning strategy and roadmap as well as evaluations can be presented to senior executives and approved, and so that the learning content resonates with learners
  • Demonstrated capability to build trust and establish credibility with stakeholders, peers, direct reports, and senior leaders
  • Deep knowledge of learning and development best practices, key learning techniques, and adult learning techniques


Physical Requirements


  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Environment: this role is protected within a building, but may be exposed to mild changes in temperature with heating or air conditioning.

Travel


  • This role requires travel up to 25%. Additional walking, stooping, sitting, and mobility may be required. Exposure to outside environmental elements may be experienced due to travel through airports, airplanes, and in between facilities

  • This position has a minimum salary of $160k. This salary is a good-faith estimate for this position. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, which include a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
