Sr. Product Development Manager

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

• A 160-year-old not-for-profit healthcare collective offering commercial group, individual health coverage, and ASO services

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be charged with guiding cross-functional teams and process to lead to innovative products that will differentiate the company from the competition and drive growth
• Lead market research, competitive analysis, strategic product positioning, and product prioritization efforts
• Be accountable for managing the development and full life cycle management of products, programs, and services across the line of business
• Establish and monitor success measures and expectations of governing councils
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive product development decisions, initiatives and implementation that span multiple lines of business
• Provide leadership and consultation in analyzing product positioning in collaboration with company marketing and communications to ensure promotional campaigns and advertising are targeted for success
• Manage the product development process - including market research, competitive analysis, product requirements, and financial analysis
• Create and develop product launch plans
• Maintain expert knowledge of the local and national health insurance market, products, micro and macro trends, and direction
• Manage applicable external councils to inform product and services feedback
• Provide input into the annual member enrollment forecasting
• Provide leadership support and consultation in analyzing sales channels and activities in collaboration with sales management
• Seek to define the most effective path to market which may include development and management of strategic partnerships

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Experience leading teams of professional level staff
• Experience with market analysis tools, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or another related field of study 7+ years experience in product development, taking a product idea through feasibility, implementation
• Project management experience
• Project management training
• Market research and product marketing experience
• Proven oral presentation experience

• Experience with employer stop-loss coverage
• Experience with clinical support programs
• Self-funded health insurance experience
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or another related field of study
• Experience with benefit cost management strategies
• Experience with pharmacy benefits managers (PBM)
