Position Summary:


EVgo is looking for a savvy and passionate Senior Manager, Business Development as one of the leads scaling EVgo’s Business-to-Business (B2B) partnerships, including EVgo eXtend and Fleet offerings. EVgo eXtend is a Private-label fast-charging solution that enables large commercial customers to own charging infrastructure. EVgo’s Fleet portfolio includes three distinct solutions: (1) dedicated depot solutions that allow mission-critical charging at the base of operations; (2) leverage of EVgo public network for rideshare partners; (3) dedicated EV charger hubs away from the base of operations.


As a successful candidate, you will lead business development and sales initiatives to scale the above B2B business lines. You have a proven track record in outreach and prospecting and will play a key role in the management of the entire sales cycle working cross-functionally with EVgo’s solutions, marketing, software, hardware, fleet, policy, finance, and operations teams.


In this client-facing business development role, you will own the opportunity pipeline including qualification and relationship engagement and will support the negotiation and closing of EVgo’s Fleet and eXtend B2B business opportunities with national brands. The position reports to the SVP of Business Development and Solutions.


Responsibilities:


  • Build on the commercialization plan, including developing positioning and messaging and creating key sales materials and campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Partner with the account management team for the hand-off of new accounts.
  • Analyze and determine key customer insights from business drivers, market trends, customer feedback, and operating metrics. Iterate on the product, positioning, pricing, and segmentation based on market findings to create a multi-year business development roadmap.
  • Develop and execute the top-of-funnel and prospecting plan and initial customer targets for EVgo’s B2B business lines.
  • Ownership of the strategic business development process: research, pipeline development, financial projections, and strategic analysis; identification of new, profitable commercial partnership opportunities; analysis and prioritization of partnership opportunities; lead and drive deal discussions; negotiate and close complex contracts.
  • Execute contracts that meet and exceed partner expectations for operational objectives on commercial programs and EVgo financial projections.
  • Utilize your expertise with CRM and other tools to effectively manage, track, and report your sales pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed individual and company B2B business plan revenue targets.


Required Skills/Experience:


  • Experience negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Successful at applying a data-driven approach to business development initiatives.
  • Previous experience working with one or more categories of nationally recognized convenience stores, rideshares, and/or fleet operator brands.
  • Proven track record of building strategic relationships with a clear path to key decision-makers.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience focused on business development and B2B sales.
  • Ability to develop processes and structures to scale sales for a new product. Expertise in the application of Salesforce CRM to business development lifecycle.
  • Superior leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.


For job positions in CA, CO, and NYC, the estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $135,000 USD to $145,000 USD. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, discretionary target cash bonus, and restricted stock units (subject to Board Approval), EVgo offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, and disability insurance, unbounded paid time off including parental leave, and a 401(k) plan.
