Our team of kickass event professionals span the nation. We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager with a sales-driven work method to join our rapidly growing team and help us expand into brand-new markets!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting sales targets through outbound sales approaches, including cold calling, prospecting, and relationship building. The Business Development Manager will be pivotal in driving business growth by securing new event sales opportunities and cultivating strong relationships with potential clients. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to adapt, a persuasive attitude, and a strong ability to identify and convert leads into profitable event bookings.
Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building: Establish and nurture long-term relationships with clients, event planners, and other industry stakeholders. Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective clients to understand their needs, build trust, and provide personalized solutions.
- Solution Oriented: Understand customer needs, identify their desires (even ones they may not be aware of), and delight them with event solutions in partnership with Corporate Events Managers.
- Achieve Sales Targets: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for event bookings. Continuously monitor sales performance and adjust strategies accordingly to maximize results.
- Outbound Sales: Utilize outbound sales approaches, including cold calling, prospecting, and networking, to generate leads and convert them into tangible event intake opportunities for Corporate Event Managers. Proactively identify and target potential clients through research, market analysis, and industry events.
- Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients, showcasing the unique features, benefits, and value proposition of our event services. Tailor presentations to address specific client requirements and demonstrate how our offerings align with their objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and potential challenges. Provide recommendations to enhance our event services, improve sales techniques, and stay ahead of the competition.
- Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including leads, contacts, sales pipeline, and revenue forecasts. Generate regular sales reports to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide weekly updates to the management team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Knowledge of the event industry, including venue selection, event planning, and logistics
- Excellent cold calling and prospecting skills, with a persuasive and confident communication style
- Experience with software platforms like Zoom Info, Zoho CRM, G-Suite, and other sales tracking tools highly preferred.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and business development purposes.
- Highly motivated, target-oriented, ability to adapt in a fast paced environment, and results-driven
- Proven 5+ years experience in business development or sales. Experience within the event planning, hospitality, or related industry required.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry professionals
- Demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, effectively converting leads into successful business deals.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
