The Task at Hand:
This role is all about working independently, alongside our distribution partners, to grow Lubanzi’s sales & marketing presence throughout the assigned territory. The position will report directly to ownership and be responsible for developing the brand’s presence across a large section of the US market
Who You Are:
You have a minimum of three years of industry sales experience & a proven ability to maintain and build new relationships. You are competitive, highly self-motivated, detail oriented and passionate about growing a forward thinking brand alongside a small, remote team.
Responsibilities:
a. Work the market: Directly own off- & on-premise accounts throughout the assigned territory by building meaningful relationships with buyers that bring value
b. Distribution management: work with distributor reps to ensure execution on monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals that are developed alongside ownership
c. Cultivate a relationship with the distributor sales team to execute sales initiatives, orchestrate ride-alongs, and participate in sales meetings
d. Drive constant email and phone communication, regular in-person visits, and ride alongs with distributor sales reps
e. Incentives: Develop & execute on sales incentives for the distribution team in your assigned territory
f. Promotions: Communicate and work with the field marketing team to schedule and/or execute Lubanzi promotions, samplings, and sponsorships on a weekly basis
g. Events & Partnerships: Identify opportunities within the assigned territory to market Lubanzi through participation in and sponsorship of key events
h. Inventory management: Review and monitor distributor & key account inventory on an ongoing basis
i. Communication: Communicate updates to ownership on bi-monthly recaps - key initiatives, what’s working vs what’s not, wins/losses, and what tools are needed to succeed
j. Help to execute National Account gaps per Sales Manager
4. Qualifications:
a. 3+ years wine/spirits supplier side sales experience
b. Must have reliable transportation
c. Up to 50% travel time may be required within the assigned territory
d. Able to frequently work during evenings and weekends
e. Strong interpersonal skills
f. MS office proficiency
g. Desire to work in a highly independent role
h. Preference for candidates who have a pre-existing familiarity with, or connection to, South Africa and/or South African wine
i. Able to lift 40+ pounds

6. Compensation
- Compensation will depend on your experience level but will be highly competitive with industry standards and include potential for equity compensation after an initial 6-12 month period.
