Brief Overview
As our Manager, Government Programs, Clinical Services you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of Amwell Medical Group’s current and future participation in various government healthcare programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and more. This role will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to expand our business. The successful candidate will be engaging and effective in communications, extraordinarily detail-oriented, and obsessive about accuracy and quality. You’ll act as a subject matter expert and be the go-to person for questions and client education.
This individual will work closely with our Amwell Medical Group Clinicians, the Amwell Clinical Services Team, and the Sales and Account Management Teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Partners with sales support and account management to formulate and follow through on proposals for government business, serving as primary point of contact for customers regarding industry standard practices and implementation related to Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid.
- Recommends process improvements and new programs based on an understanding of the evolving telehealth landscape and associated guidelines and regulations.
- Leads, trains, and directly manages Application Specialist(s).
- Develops and nurtures relationships with key providers.
- Creates and implements multi-year plans to grow the company’s Medicaid business.
- Owns end-to-end setup process for new business including autonomous compliance and regulatory research, contracting, and documentation and training of state-specific enrollment practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- People management experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience providing support for Government (Medicare and/or Medicaid) healthcare programs in a telehealth environment
- Industry acumen, with strong demonstrated knowledge and experience in healthcare, specifically navigating the Health Plan industry.
- Experience interacting with senior-level executives
- Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Robust interpersonal and communication ability, including strong writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring that all internal and external stakeholders understand the project goals and deliverables.

The typical base salary range for this position is $80,800 - $111,100. The actual salary offer will ultimately depend on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, relevant education, experience, complexity or specialization of talent, and other objective factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company performance and employee performance. Long-term incentives and short-term variable compensation may be offered as part of the compensation package dependent on the role. Some roles may be commission based, in which case the total compensation will be based on a commission, and the above range may not be an accurate representation of total compensation.
