Job Summary: The Student Programs Manager oversees a portfolio of Heritage training programs, including the Academy, the Local University Conservatives Network, and the Conservative Hill Intern Program. This position identifies, recruits, educates, and trains talent to develop the conservative talent pipeline for placement in the public sector and with movement organizations, with particular emphasis on Capitol Hill and presidential administrations. The Student Programs Manager manages programs which include over 140 unique sessions annually, serves as the point of contact for the 450+ learning-program participants each year, and tracks program data. This position also develops program content and recruits program participants in alignment with organizational placement strategy for the advancement of Heritage policy. This individual must have significant awareness of and interest in political philosophy, history, and current public policy; the conservative movement and its key figures; outreach and relationship management; and knowledge of conservative public policy hiring needs.

Job Duties:

• Develop new program content recommendations to address placement goals with key audiences; craft relevant content based on customer awareness and needs, and to ensure marketability of program attendees.
• Plan, manage, and execute programming and full-cycle logistics for the following training programs: The Heritage Foundation’s Academy – a semester-long, virtual program offered three times each year for 300+ fellows across the world; Local University Conservatives Network offered twice a year for 80+ DC-area college freshmen and sophomores; Conservative Hill Intern Program for 100+ interns from House and Senate offices.
• Also in coordination with Outreach Department colleagues, represent Heritage at appropriate movement events and conferences to raise visibility for Heritage programs with college students and professionals; generate and promote collateral to drive program recruitment.
• Audit and adjust all training programs’ structure and content to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and placement objectives.
• In collaboration with Outreach Department colleagues, develop ongoing movement partner relationships for recruiting, program application and registration, and placement.
• Reconcile monthly departmental accounts for submission to Accounting; coordinate day-to-day accounting-related tasks.

Qualifications:

Education: BA/BS required. graduate degree in education, history, political science, or philosophy preferred.

Experience: 4-5 years of relevant work experience; background in conservative movement programming. Completion of Heritage training program a plus.

Communication: Mastery of English language and composition; excellent presentation and learning program hosting skills; strong marketing skills.

Technology: Microsoft Suite; Access Database; Applicant Tracking Systems, aptitude and willingness to learn Marketo and Docebo

• Advanced knowledge of the conservative movement and its figures; the history of the conservative movement; political thought and key public policy positions.
• Knowledge of Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch.
• Demonstrated interpersonal communication and organizational skills, resulting in effective team collaboration.
