Blood Bank IS Analyst

Location: Boston, MA (Remote)

Duration: 6-month contract to hire

Our client, a major academic medical center in Boston and one of the nation's top ranked health systems, is looking for an Applications Analyst to join their pathology informatics team. The Applications Analyst will play a key role in providing technical, operational, and maintenance support for our clients Blood Bank Laboratory IS to complete projects/initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• CAHIMS, CPHIMS, PMP, ITIL or other certification and training a plus
• 3+ years experience working in laboratory, blood bank, & Lab Information Sytems
• BS Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Science, Health Informatics or related field preferred.
• 3+ years working as an applications analyst or in a similar customer support role in Health IT systems
• Microsoft Windows, Linux Red Hat, Microsoft SQL, Oracle dbms formal and/or informal Technical training preferred

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with project teams in design, implementation and testing of LIS interfaces
• Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to details in both performance of duties and documentation
• Participate in 24x7 on call support rotation
• Perform system maintenance activities during monthly overnight ISM (Information Systems Maintenance), which can include production server patch reboots, quarterly database maintenance, and interface connectivity checks following LIS planned downtimes
• Provide day-to-day support of all Pathology specific hardware and software needs related to systems support and patient laboratory information
• Troubleshoot and fix problems with lab related hardware
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills in both implementations and support resolutions
• Communicate effectively with varying levels of individuals and across organizational boundaries
• Participate in upgrades and new system implementations - and new laboratory or department initiatives that intersect with the Laboratory Information Systems
• Working with the Systems Manager, IT/IS Teams, and the staff of the Blood Donor Center and Laboratories
