Savvas Learning Company is seeking a full-time Manager of Benefits Operations to lead benefits administration. This individual will be reporting to the HR Operations Leader and will be a key member of our HR team supporting employees at various locations in the United States and Canada.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Manage all employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, and vision plans; life insurance plans; temporary disability programs; flex spending, health savings; and wellness programs.
  • Install approved plans by designing and executing a communication strategy for 1,700 employees; conduct employee meetings and arrange for enrollment; advise and counsel management and employees on existing benefits.
  • Ensure the reconciliation and tracking of health and welfare benefit payments and audit documentation is established.
  • Manages 401k plan, including all Plan Administrator duties: contribution calculations, new comparability design, ongoing compliance, reporting and filing requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with governmental regulations related to benefit programs and labor law, including ERISA, FMLA, and HIPAA.
  • Educate and mentor human resources professionals to guide them in their communications with employees in relation to the employee’s benefit plans. Manages communication efforts and tools for employees to be well-informed of their benefits. Also serves as the primary contact for employees related to more complex benefits issues and handles the administration of FMLA and Disability issues.
  • Audit and validate accuracy of enrollments and changes from our HRIS (Ceridian); quickly and independently resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Familiar reviewing FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, parental, military, and other leave of absence.
  • Compliance testing of 401k plan, annual additions, maximum deductible contribution determination, and top-heavy testing


Qualifications


  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification is a plus.
  • Extensive experience working with Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, HR or a related field.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal & state regulations pertaining to administration of benefits and 401k plans.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in benefits and administration.
