Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Key Account Executive to join our Small Format team to cover territory that includes Illinois, Ohio, and Western Pennsylvania. Reporting to the VP Sales, Small Format, this position will develop strategic customer relationships within assigned geography with the primary purpose of growing sustainable top-line and bottom-line sales in the convenience and drug channels. This Account Executive will utilize their entrepreneurial spirit and sales intellect to reach key decision makers within existing and new customers across this emerging geography.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare materials for all in-store and HQ sales presentations. Utilize advanced sales tools to develop fact-based presentations (i.e., syndicated data, PowerBI, etc.) that will result in KPI achievement and sustainable share and sales growth.
- Coordinate specific objectives of the sales plan with all other cross functional departments such as Marketing, Trade Management, Demand Planning, and Finance.
- Work in conjunction with operations, supply chain, demand planning, and fulfillment to ensure proper customer sales service, and delivery excellence.
- Effectively communicate specific programs, pricing, and contract details to both the customer and Company stakeholders.
- Partner and guide National Broker network to achieve key goals and KPIs.
- Leverage fact-based selling tools and technology to sell the company’s strategic focus areas and priorities. This includes executing against Utz’s merchandising, assortment, pricing, and promotional goals.
- Must be knowledgeable of relevant market and industry trends, competitors, and top customer and channel strategies across both Direct-Store-Delivery (DSD) and Direct-to-Warehouse (DTW) routes-to-market and be able to build and deliver execution plans in both.
Requirements
- This position requires the ability to travel (up to 50%) and have overnight stays.
- Strategic selling experience.
- This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience utilizing syndicated data; excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to analyze and evaluate several sources of data to develop actionable insights.
- Experience both with DSD and Warehouse delivery systems preferred.
- Skilled capabilities on IRI/Nielsen data/systems, shopper insights, trade promotion planning, presentation creation and delivery, and customer business planning.
- Candidates must have a cross-functional collaborative mindset, solution-oriented attitude, and a willingness to invest time in self-development are qualities that are critical to success in this role.
- Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of CPG sales; including broker management.
- Demonstrated skills in analytics, problem-solving, verbal/written communication, influencing/negotiation, relationship-building, strategic selling experience and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a focus in business, preferred.
