Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.
Position Overview
The Systems Administrator role will implement and manage all enterprise systems and services. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical. The position will have you coordinate with all IT operations functions and processes required to support business operations and to keep all Shockwave Medical infrastructure, including servers, network, telephony, and data, available 24x7. In addition, it requires working closely with IT leadership to identify and ensure systems are maintained, patched, and secure.
Essential Job Functions
- Support a Cybersecurity strategy and tools deployments (End-point protection, patch management, etc.).
- Support computing resources by ensuring hardware, OS (Operating System), security, and software patches are tested and installed in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain infrastructure and network documentation.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Provision and configure the necessary software on web and database servers.
- Provides after-hours support for planned maintenance.
- Collaboratively manages, maintains, and updates Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Servers, Azure services, Linux systems, and disaster recovery hardware.
- Assist in supporting network security optimizations.
- Install, configure, and manage data center infrastructure (servers, storage, networks, switches, Wi-Fi controller, etc.)
- Install, configure, and manage services, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Install, configure, and manage Windows servers hosted in a virtual environment.
- Ensure the integrity of data storage and backup systems.
- Drives preventative maintenance tasks and updates on our client's Windows IT hardware and software systems.
- Troubleshoot IT-related problems, both Hardware and Software
- Monitor and correct critical server issues and create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks.
Requirements
- Microsoft Azure, Windows, and application-level certifications are highly desired.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Experience configuring and supporting virtual environments (VMWare, Hyper V, Citrix)
- Must be independently motivated and able to work without detailed direction.
- Relevant work experience in a Medical Device, Healthcare, or Life Sciences is a plus.
- Continuous improvement mindset is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and ensure work is completed in the time frame required.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong teamwork mindset.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting windows servers, VM environments, and networks.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in a similar role
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing work environment.
Market Range: $108,000 - $127,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, expertise, and location.
