Company Description
Universal Metro Asian Services is a non-profit organization that serves immigrant populations of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Middle East, Mexico, and Europe. The organization received its first contract with Illinois Department on Aging(IDOA) to administer homecare services to ethnic seniors in 1993 via Universal Industries. Our Community Care program is unique and we are dedicated to providing services to the elderly in their home rather than institutionalized in a nursing home. We consider our participant's cultural and social preferences very carefully before assigning a Caregiver in order to best match their needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Specific Tasks:
- Create a rigorous employee evaluation policy (performance reviews). Create the Process, the timing, create a process map, specific evaluations based off of job role, and communication of this policy to the rest of the organization.
- Handle all recruiting tasks; setting up/creating job req's, screening candidates, setting up interviews, etc.
- Setting up a central repository (SharePoint) where employees can go for their HR needs as well as documentation of company policies
- HRIS Experience - ADT/Paylocity
- Create/Own the Onboarding process. This includes: Recruiting, Recordkeeping, getting the employee onto Payroll (W2, W9, W4), salary placement, getting them onto health insurance
General Responsibilities:
- Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
- Conducts recruitment effort; conducts new-employee orientations;
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions; maintains company organization charts and the employee directory.
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
- Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- HRIS Experience - ADT/Paylocity
- Strong people management skills including talent development, coaching and developing high performance team
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field of study
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of Human Resources or related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to be a productive team member/player
- Self-motivated, creative, flexible and results driven
Additional qualifications include:
- Experience: Minimum 1 years working with Not For Profits preferred
- Being fluent in Hindi/Urdu or Guajarati preferred
- Master’s Degree in related field preferred
- Specialized knowledge: Knowledge of Not For Profits (NFPs) and Community Care Program (CCP)
