Job Description

As the Director of HR/People, you will play a crucial role in helping Secureframe scale, while enhancing and strengthening our culture and creating an inclusive environment where people are excited to do their best work. You will report directly to the General Counsel and your immediate responsibilities will be focused on standardizing our HR processes and defining initiatives that will help ensure smooth employee onboarding and meaningful employee engagement and performance in a primarily remote organization.


This role is fully remote, with a strong preference for a candidate located in Michigan; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Austin, TX; New York, NY; or Denver, Colorado. We believe the salary for this role will be between $170-$200k depending on experience and location.

  • A critical thinker who is able to consistently dive into complex issues and challenges to uncover underlying factors, connections and implications;
  • Experience handling confidential information with a commitment to company and employee privacy.
  • Someone who has experience implementing HR programs such as onboarding processes, compliance, benefits, employee development programs and comp review;
  • Adaptable and able to seamlessly change priorities with a high degree of flexibility (readily adjusting plans, strategies and workloads to meet evolving organizational needs and goals)


What You'll Do


  • Benchmark benefits and compensation to ensure Secureframe remains competitive
  • Oversee and coordinate the performance management process, including performance evaluations, developmental plans and goal setting to enhance individual and team performance
  • Provide advice to managers and employees on employee relations matters
  • Assist with the creation of an employee learning, development and employee retention strategy
  • Work with our leadership team to define a strategy that allows all team members to perform their best work in a remote environment and promotes a culture of engagement, diversity and inclusion
  • Own HR administration and manage compensation, benefits, leave, termination and disciplinary matters
  • Own employee engagement surveys, ensuring their effective administration, analysis and interpretation to gather valuable insights on employee satisfaction and engagement levels
  • Manage compliance with labor and employment laws, including working with our General Counsel to develop legally mandated policies and procedures
  • Develop on-boarding processes designed to drive a seamless experience for new hires across multiple entities, partners and geographies
  • Manage relationships with professional employment organizations, employers of record, payroll providers and entity management firms
  • Work with department leadership to design and manage career progression ladders to provide clear pathways for professional development and growth
  • Develop and implement action plans based on the survey results to address areas of improvement


Preferred Experience & Qualifications


  • Familiarity working across the globe, to support multiple time zones and cultures
  • Proficiency with Google Docs, Gmail, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, DocuSign, Salesforce, CLM and other Legal Ops tools, and Slack
  • 10+ years of experience in HR, with at least 2 years of experience leading an HR function in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Knowledgeable about employment laws and related compliance issues
  • Proven success working effectively across business units to design and implement efficient processes, and resolve HR challenges across the company
