Role
The Vice President of People (VP of People), you will play a pivotal role in leading and driving the overall human resources strategy for AppHub. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for creating and executing HR initiatives that align with the company's objectives, foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and contribute to the development and retention of top talent. This is a full-time, fully-remote role with 5-10% business travel expected.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Provide strategic guidance on organizational development, succession planning, and talent management.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align HR initiatives with the overall corporate strategy.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy that supports the company's business goals and long-term growth.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the recruitment process to attract and retain a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, performance, and career development.
- Lead the design and execution of effective onboarding and training programs.
Employee Relations and Compliance:
- Oversee the development and implementation of employee relations programs that promote a positive and respectful work environment.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies across all HR activities.
- Handle complex employee issues and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent resolutions.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of competitive compensation and benefits programs.
- Analyze market trends to ensure the company remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
- Develop strategies to enhance cultural awareness and create an inclusive workplace for all employees.
- Champion initiatives that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
HR Operations and Technology:
- Leverage HR technology and data analytics to make informed decisions and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
- Streamline HR processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead training and development for the company.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to HR staff.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience being part of the Senior Leadership Team and leads with a business mindset.
- Deep knowledge of US employment law (global employment law and experience with additional jurisdictions a plus)
- Experience having built HR functions and led HR teams.
- Strong background building compensation programs and employee architecture.
- Experience in tech and SaaS businesses a plus.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in HR technology and data analytics.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align HR initiatives with business goals.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in progressively senior HR leadership roles.
- Experience in organizational development, talent management, and succession planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations and sensitive situations.
