About the role
We are currently looking for a Director, Digital Retailer Strategy to join our Digital team, working closely with our eComm, Sales, and Ops leads across four brand lines: e.l.f. Cosmetics, e.l.f. SKIN, Well People, and Keys Soulcare, with a focus on e.l.f. Cosmetics and e.l.f. SKIN. Proximity to Oakland, CA or Los Angeles, CA is strongly preferred.
The Director, Digital Retailer Strategy will develop and implement strategies to improve dot com penetration and year-over-year growth across top digital retail accounts. In close collaboration with the Sales team, the Director will grow relationships with the digital and online merchandising teams at key accounts such as Target.com, Ulta.com, and Walmart.com and identify which unique audiences to target by account with an eye for improving product education and understanding. They will also partner with the International team to identify emerging accounts and strategies to drive improved placement, increased assortment, and revenue growth and focus on the acceleration of key accounts in UK, Canada, and India and exploration of new pure players to launch in these key markets.
Successful candidates will embrace e.l.f.’s dynamic culture of executing with quality and speed to drive solutions and must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record of growing businesses. You will bring at least 6 years of retailer dot com experience with a deep understanding of Target.com, Ulta.com, and Walmart.com bring critical to success. You will also have demonstrable experience and knowledge in driving the reach and growth of a consumer-packaged good brand in the digital space and have successfully managed a P&L. We are also looking for someone with a high level of comfort presenting and communicating with senior executives inside the organization and with external senior partners and the ability to operate and communicate effectively in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment.
Detailed Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities
Acceleration of Top Accounts
- Drive digital POV on marketing of account-specific collaborations and exclusive partnerships.
- Strategize around key seasonal opportunities to build unique eventized experiences per account.
- Identify opportunities to pedestal new and emerging brands such as e.l.f. SKIN, Well People, and Keys Soulcare.
- Identify which unique audiences to target by account, and how to tailor copy and optimize content accordingly, with an eye for improving product education and understanding.
- Collaborate with Ops team and Sales to optimize forecasting process.
- Develop and implement unique strategies to improve dot com penetration and YoY growth across top digital retail accounts, in partnership with the e.l.f. Sales team, outlining a highly tailored and differentiated approach for each account.
- Maintain oversight of competitive activations and initiatives across top digital accounts to ensure e.l.f. remains differentiated and ahead of the curve.
- Partner with Customer Service and education team as needed to address customer online feedback and questions.
- In close collaboration with the Sales team, grow the relationships with the digital and online merchandising teams at key accounts such as Target.com, Ulta.com, and Walmart.com.
- Partner with Sales and Integrated Marketing teams to test, learn, and optimize platform-specific paid opportunities, social activations, and other marketing activations for top accounts.
Growth Strategies for Emerging and International Accounts
- Partnership with Data and Mobile Innovation Manager to explore new retailers that lean into social and user-generated content.
- Laser-focus on acceleration of key accounts in UK, Canada, and India and exploration of new pure players to launch in these key markets.
- Partner with the International team and Sales to identify top priority emerging accounts and strategies in which to drive improved placement, increased assortment, and revenue growth.
Requirements
- Process-driven and extremely detail-oriented.
- High energy and capable of multi-tasking and context-switching with ease in a fast-paced and ever-evolving organization.
- Experienced with analytics and BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Tabs Analytics.
- 6+ years of retailer dot com experience. Deep understanding of Target.com, Ulta.com, and Walmart.com critical.
- Proven results forecasting for and overseeing a brand with thousands of skus in market.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively in a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment.
- High level of comfort presenting and communicating with senior executives inside the organization and with external senior partners.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in driving the reach and growth of a consumer-packaged good brand in the digital space and successfully managing a P&L.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with Beauty strongly preferred.
