Chief Commercial Officer (Diabetes specialist)
Consultant position - est. short term contract, 10 - 15hrs/wk
100% US Remote.
Report to: Chief Executive Officer
We have partnered up with a very exciting Biopharma that has a focus on small molecule development to treat genetically defined cancers and metabolic diseases. While still early in their own company growth, they are currently looking to move some products into the marketplace following very positive results thus far.
As such, we are looking for a consultant Chief Commercial Officer, who will provide leadership, strategic vision, and functional expertise required for successful execution of clinical trials. Specifically searching for an SME within Diabetes. Successful candidates will have taken a Diabetes drug through a successful launch in the last 5 - 8yrs.
Briefly defined as a roadmap expert, this role requires broad scope analysis and understanding of the therapeutic landscape and current market dynamics including its players, products and competitors. Additionally, the role requires the ability to see the complete picture, identify gaps/opportunities and provide guidance to develop robust clinical trials and execution in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- BA/BS; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- High exposure to US pharmaceutical market dynamics and competitive intelligence – knowing market trends, familiarity of trends in healthcare, emerging business models and best practices.
- Understanding of relevant space to leverage clinical trials development plan including appropriate patients and endpoints selection, and regulatory environments.
- 20+ years of work experience in the pharma / biotech industry
- Exposed to new product launches / product management practices with a focus on sales force sizing, targeting / segmentation, etc.
- Experience with global sales opportunity (For Diabetes position: Type 2 Diabetes)
- Recent Diabetes experience is required.
- Startup experience is important.
- Strategic mindset with high degree of creativity and innovation in developing new approaches, processes, and methodologies to enhance commercial operations.
