Job Summary
As a Senior Director of Marketing/Commercial Development you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all marketing initiatives related to biosimilar products within the pharmaceutical company. You will develop and implement strategic marketing plans to drive the commercial success of biosimilar products in alignment with the company's overall objectives. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to maximize brand awareness, market share, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the executive team to define long-term commercial objectives and develop actionable marketing plans to achieve them.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify key trends, customer insights, and opportunities for differentiation in the biosimilars market.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for biosimilar products, considering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
2. Brand Management:
- Define the brand positioning, messaging, and value proposition for biosimilar products.
- Oversee the development of marketing materials, campaigns, and promotional activities to support brand awareness and drive product adoption.
- Ensure consistent and compliant messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments related to biosimilars.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer insights, market opportunities, and potential barriers to product adoption.
- Partner with sales teams to develop and implement targeted sales and marketing initiatives to drive product uptake and revenue growth.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales, Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations, R&D and regulatory affairs teams to ensure effective product development and launch strategies for biosimilar products.
- Use market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and adapt marketing strategies as needed.
- Work with medical affairs and market access teams to develop value-based messaging and support reimbursement strategies for biosimilar products.
4. Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, patient advocacy groups, and other relevant stakeholders in the biosimilars space.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the sales teams in their interactions with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, symposiums, and other events to enhance brand visibility and engage with key stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with a specific focus on biosimilar products.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical product marketing, with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of the biosimilars market, including regulatory requirements, reimbursement landscape, and market access considerations.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations and industry guidelines relevant to pharmaceutical marketing.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies for biosimilar products.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to translate market insights into actionable marketing plans.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
