Chief Design Officer (CDO)

Summary

This company is seeking a Chief Design Officer to lead the design of industry-changing consumer and software applications. The ideal candidate is a brilliant problem solver, quick study, self-starter and excellent communicator with a passion for beautiful intuitive design and the ability to achieve it.

As Chief Design Officer, you will work directly with the CEO, CTO and Chief Product Officer to drive design development from a user experience, user interface and usability standpoint.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering to create elegant interaction and interface solutions that make the complex simple.
• Build and lead a high-performing design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Refine, maintain and implement design systems with precision to ensure consistency across the product suite.
• Own projects throughout the entire design lifecycle, from UX/UI to development.
• Set and manage the design process.

• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Qualifications

• Experience leading and mentoring a team of designers
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles
• Positive, can-do, motivational attitude with the ability to achieve optimal results in a quick-moving environment
• Strong experience designing web and mobile applications
• Excellent collaboration skills
• Highly professional, with the ability to deliver consistently high-quality work on schedule
• Mastery of MacOS
• Visionary designer with a rare blend of interaction design, visual design and prototyping skills
