Analyst, People Analytics (Remote)

Job Purpose

This position will have the opportunity to make a significant impact to help drive critical business decisions by designing and developing intuitive and interactive Business Intelligence content (reports, dashboards, data apps/notebooks, scorecards, analytic solutions). Additionally, this position will be able to produce exploratory analysis to uncover holistic insights to inform strategies and drivers of performance metrics.

The analyst will collaborate with key business partners for the purpose of identifying and delivering robust reporting and analytics capabilities to drive improved business performance. Key responsibilities include optimizing core metrics, running and optimizing analytic operations, participating in cross-departmental projects, extracting insights, solving business problems, pre-processing/transforming tabular and unstructured data, and developing new reporting by utilizing Python, SQL, Workday, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with business teams and leadership to understand reporting needs and requirements.
• Exercise sound judgment while creating reports and visuals to ensure a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and usefulness for business leaders.
• Introduces improvements throughout the reporting process.
• Business Domain Analysis:
• Adapts to new situations such as teams, projects, or work processes.
• Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations and provides suggestions to meet team goals, asks questions and checks for understanding. Contributes to change initiatives by suggesting ways to clarify ambiguity.
• Able to provide basic level insights from reports and visualizations
• Prepares presentations, reports, or visualizations and presents this information to team or working groups.
• Impacts quality of own work; works within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Understands applicable business concepts, processes, and systems for business domain and applies learnings.
• Reporting, Business Intelligence and Data:
• Understanding of the relationships in specific business domain's data and on how it impacts reporting and visuals.
• Understands the core metrics and key performance indicators for specific business.
• Business Data Communications:
• Creates new business reports that provide insight into key data points and maintains and modifies existing reports.
• Supports data governance, data ownership, and data inventory procedures for various data products (e.g., data apps, dashboards, Voice of Employee data).

Job Requirements

• 3+ years' data reporting and BI experience
• Ability to interpret data models in conjunction with exploratory analysis of a database
• Understands conceptual model design
• Ability to construct dynamic reports / data apps vs static reports
• Awareness of where specific business unit or data domain information is housed within the enterprise
• Awareness of how data is modeled for a specific business unit or data domain
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics, Social Sciences (e.g., Quantitative Psychology, IO Psychology), or related field.
• Skilled in using Python for data pre-processing, data transformations, data analysis, and dynamic dashboards
• Ability to represent relevant data within comprehensive visuals
• Proficiency in data mining technologies such as: Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, R/Python, DataBricks, SQL, SAS
• Can interpret basic business requirements necessary for data model development
• Analytic skills to understand business concepts, metrics, processes, and systems for business domain
• Understands basic data modeling concepts/techniques and data storage tools such as Snowflake and SQL Server.
• Knowledge in how the business works and how it is executed (People, Process and Technology).
• Familiarity with "demystifying" analytics and communicating benefits as opposed to technicalities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive, production environment.
• Awareness of source systems within the enterprise
• Ability to incorporate aesthetic principles into report / scorecard development
• Ability to communicate (written & verbal) with internal and external teams regarding tasks / assignments
• Skilled in BI applications such as PowerBI and Python notebooks such Jupyter
• Awareness of industry reporting and visualization best practices

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range

$67,600.00 - $101,400.00
