Accounts Payable/ Receivable Analyst (Cannabis Testing Lab)

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will maintain financial records and reports, perform account reconciliations, assist with close processes, conduct internal audits, and maintain accounts receivable and payable processes. The role will also be assisting the Accounting Manager in responding to information requests by management and other departments. The role will analyze past financial information to generate reporting on future performance.

General Duties

• Develop reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
• Prepare accounting journal entries including accruals, reclassification entries and other month-end close tasks.
• Daily maintenance of full cycle AR and AP processes including but not limited to Billing, Collections, AP entry, sales ledger and data management, account reconciliations and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP in accounting and financial reporting.
• Create financial reporting to support forecasting and organizational decision making.
• Perform internal audits of Sales and Expense processes and make recommendations as needed.
• Analysis of business and financial data relating to sales and costs trends, market trends and other ad-hoc analysis.
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with solid attention to detail.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online, or similar accounting systems.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Cash Flow Statements.
• Two years of professional experience as a financial analyst, accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
• Comfort and ability to work autonomously or with minimal guidance.
