DFI Rentals is a leading provider of high-quality film equipment rentals for film production professionals. We pride ourselves on our extensive inventory, personalized customer service, and a seamless rental experience. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Rentals Manager to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
The Rentals Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire equipment rental process, from checking in and out equipment to managing outgoing orders and maintaining excellent client relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a customer service mindset, and a deep technical understanding of film equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the equipment rental department, ensuring the efficient and smooth rental process for all clients.
- Check in and out equipment, verifying the condition, quantity, and functionality of each item.
- Coordinate with the prep tech team to ensure proper storage, maintenance, and availability of equipment.
- Process and manage outgoing orders, including preparing invoices, processing payments, and arranging delivery and pick-up logistics.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and offering expert advice on equipment selection based on technical knowledge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring repeat business.
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with the procurement team to replenish stock as needed.
- Train, supervise, and mentor rental department staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of rental operations within the company.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and technology, making recommendations for new equipment purchases and rental offerings.
- Demo equipment at trade shows, events, and educational workshops.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in film production, with a deep technical understanding of film equipment.
- Proven experience in managing rental operations, inventory management, and customer service within the film production industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Davinci Resolve, Google Suite, and relevant rental management software.
- A team player with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
