Global Supply Manager, Chemicals

What To Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Supply Manager to support our cross functional teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain parts. These could include specific parts related to our factory production or service operation of vehicles, Tesla Energy, Batteries and/or any other components intrinsic to the successful running of the organization. This role will report to our Supply Chain Manager and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting our various Engineering groups within Tesla.
What You’ll Do

• Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners and comfortably communicate both internally and externally to drive decisions from cost and supply reliability perspectives
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and influence timely decisions with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support program launch
• Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
• Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance through different negotiation tools or skills
• Build and implement strategies to the external environment and internal goals for the respective parts
• Drive negotiation for piece price and product development to ensure that Tesla’s pricing meets best-landed-cost expectations as well as Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality
• Communicate key supply, cost or quality issues with management teams and develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
• Owner of RFQ's and contract management - ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated, agreed and appropriately documented before business is initiated

What You’ll Bring

• Analytical with ability to build out Should-Cost models and cost forecasts
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management. Experience associated to chemicals, adhesive or coating is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or Chemistry and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability. Master’s degree in related areas is a plus.
• Technical & commercial understanding of chemistry or manufacturing processes on chemicals
• Experience with mechanical/chemical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to drive competitive cost based on the understanding of manufacturing process and chemistry
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Excellent negotiator
• Proficient knowledge of technical requirements & design of chemical applications in mechanical designs and be able to influence cross functional partners with detailed analysis that supports optimized pricing and product sourcing decisions

Expected Compensation
$72,000 - $264,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
