The role of Regional Sales and Education Manager offers an exciting opportunity to develop teams, create strategy for respective region and drive sales through education and event activities in a designated region for this dynamic brand within Sephora.
The Regional Sales and Education Manager must have a background in beauty retail sales, makeup artistry experience, and a strong passion for developing others. This candidate needs to be a strategic with a drive to accomplish sales goals, the ability to clearly communicate the message and philosophy of the brand, and to strategize and execute actionable plans in their defined regions.
JOB DESCRIPTION
A Regional Manager Sales and Education is responsible for overseeing brand sales, education and artistry within assigned territory. The Regional Manager will be responsible for developing field teams to drive sales in their individual region through education and artistry reflective of Makeup by Mario’s principles and philosophies of makeup. This role will act as the relationship internally to the field, brand partners and externally to Sephora. This person is highly strategic, ambitious & commercially savvy, working with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on a variety of topics including promotional activity, events & education materials based on competitive insights to strengthen retail performance.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Leadership & Development
- Performance management of SEM/SEC team; hire, train & coach Field Sales and Education Managers and Coordinators.
- In-store seasonal planning and execution
- Continuous learnings and best practice sharing from being in the field.
- Quarterly call cycle visits within territory to SEM/SEC regions to coach and develop team and discuss observations and opportunities. Travel expectation 50%.
- Co creates clearly defined career maps & succession plans with direct reports.
- Working side by side, train, coach & develop direct reports for leadership development, optimized store visits, and building & maintaining retailer partnerships.
- Give constructive and concise feedback on artistry skills and development needs to SEM/SEC/RSS and communicate clearly with Artistry Dept for coaching programs.
- Provide feedback on quality and quantity of RSS in store.
- Build & maintain strong regional retail relationships with district and area managers as well as top door store management.
Strategy And Execution
- Foster door strategy conversations, including opportunities in space and location, ACCR’s or increase investment to drive business performance.
- Partner with VP of Sales to strategize sales execution plans for territory; support sales execution by SEM/SECs.
- Plan and negotiate secondary exposure, events and training opportunities for key launches with Store Managers, District Managers, Event Managers and FSC to ensure maximum visual effect and sales performance. Plan, communicate and execute all in-store events.
- Understand productivity reports by door, region, and territory to analyze business needs to assure productivity standards are met.
- Conduct bi-weekly team meetings to review sell through success & opportunities in hero, newness, core & promotional activity. Celebrate team achievements and successes.
- Prepare and carry out seasonal retailer presentations. Participate in and/or organize regional retailer strategy meetings.
- Analyze & enhance promotional strategies including FOS, secondary location, FSC artistry and promotional events.
- Synthesize field team needs across region & proactively communicate to VP Sales and NYO teams.
- Reinforce adherence to merchandising standards and brand identity.
- Review RSS(freelance) productivity, store rankings & key sku performance to maintain elevated performance in freelance doors vs non supported freelance doors.
Financial Planning And Analysis
- Manage and assure T&E budgets are adhered to and savings are made where ROI is not met.
- Provide regular business recaps.
- Work with Planning team to identify opportunities with stock levels. Communicate stock needs/concerns and track incoming shipments to ensure timely arrival in store.
- Provide insight on customer shopping behaviors and suggest innovative ideas to improve the brands relationship with consumers through opportunities in product, merchandising, marketing, event and in-store promotions.
- Consult VP on allocation strategy of SEM/SEC budgets by door and by region, as well as freelance and T&E budgets to SEM/SEC’s within region.
- Analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly brand sale reports, including competitive brand report.
- Measure ROI of all financial investments
Required Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in cosmetic or retail management.
- Must be located in Los Angeles or Orange County area
- Analytical in approach to identifying opportunities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills necessary – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, results oriented, and a creative thinker.
- Proven experience in motivating and training a sales team.
