Job Description
Human Resources Associate The Human Resources Associate performs essential daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Core responsibilities will include benefits systems administration, assisting in performance management, new hire and exit facilitation, attending campus recruiting events and following standard HR procedures. Our ideal candidate maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and local, state and federal regulations. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required. 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources or benefits administration required. SHRM-CP or PHR certifications a bonus. Technical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems. Interpersonal Skills Acts with integrity and a high regard for professionalism and character and strict firm and client confidentiality. Is a team player and has the ability to work independently within the team environment; Is flexible when presented with challenging situations; Works well with others across the firm; Adheres to the highest degree of professional standards; Understands and practices strict confidentiality expectations of working in a Human Resources Department Job Duties: Responsible for all administrative functions regarding onboarding new employees for the Columbus, Ohio office Updates and maintains internal documentation with new employee documents and checklists. Plans, schedules, and communicates to all involved regarding new hire orientation. Reconciles all invoices received from the benefits’ providers to verify monthly charges. Maintains the accounts with the benefit’s providers to include weekly file feeds, communications, employee changes, open enrollment transmissions and renewals Keeping employee bulletin boards update to date with all compliance and governmental regulations. Works closely with the Human Resources Director in performing assigned duties a timely and efficient manner. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Director of Human Resources. Confidentially administers and executes routine tasks in delicate circumstances, such as providing reasonable accommodations and assisting with terminations as needed. May be required to attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Performs other duties as assigned.
