YWCA Human Resources Internship

The YWCA of Nashville & Middle TN is seeking an intern to assist in the Human Resources office. This position will serve in a part-time, volunteer capacity. This position will report to the HR Generalist and work with several departments and supporting staff.

The primary purpose of our internship program is to provide meaningful experiences in the field, helping students learn first-hand through real-world projects and assignments.

Responsibilities include:

• Serving on the Fun Committee
• Other duties as needed.
• HR-related project based on interns subject of interest: Recruitment, Onboarding, Benefits, Training, Employee Relations, Employee Engagement, FMLA, Policy or HR Documentation.
• Supporting the coordination of Fun Committee meetings
• File maintenance/Data entry

Knowledge/experience gained:

• HR Policies and Procedures
• Employee Relations
• Recruiting and hiring
• Legal Compliance

Candidate must:

• Have excellent communication (both written and verbal) and research skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Be currently enrolled in an accredited college
• Expressed interest in human resources and organizational development
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
