Summary


The Human Resources Assistant serves as the first point of contact for Human Resources to internal and external contacts. The HR Assistant provides customer service related to phone calls, electronic processing and employee requests.


Responsibilities


  • Assists other HR departments as needed.
  • Provides clerical support for the HR department including in-person and electronic filing and mail distribution.
  • Receives and processes all off-site employee file requests.
  • Reviews and processes Infor transaction approvals including but not limited to name and address changes.
  • Handles HR related customer service inquiries and problems via phone or email.
  • Processes employment verification, and employee memorials requests.
  • Answers and screens incoming telephone calls and emails and follows through with appropriate action including solving or distributing the information to others.

Technical Expertise


  • Critical thinking and the ability to problem solve is required.
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Advanced experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
  • Advanced customer service skills are required.


Education And Experience


  • Years of experience supervising: None
  • Certification: None. Ability to complete customer service training within six months of employment is required.
  • Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred in office administration and customer service
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required


Working conditions


  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in the standing position the majority of the time, except when documenting patient care.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • This position works in an environment in which there is potential exposure to items that may present health problems. In order to mitigate this risk, the employee must wear appropriate protective equipment, demonstrate awareness of the environment, obtain knowledge of risk factors, and adhere to safety guidelines.
