Hr Services Assistant Jobs

Position Summary:

Performs a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of University and unit human resources and payroll policies and procedures. Interact with general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at a senior level to resolve issues and problems. Process a variety of human resource and payroll transactions including preparation of forms when necessary. Initiates off-cycle requests, prepares new hire packages and ensures employee receipt of benefit information. Provide a variety of clerical support focusing on the review and processing of transactions into PeopleSync to support various HR business processes including but not limited to hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations, compensation changes, leave of absence, etc. Resolves cases submitted through ServiceLink requesting employee data changes, corrections and updates. Supports activities related to Employment Verification.This role has a hybrid work schedule: Two days on-site and three days remote per week.

Qualifications:

Required Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

3+ years of office experience providing a high level of customer service.

Preferred Experience:

2+ years of related experience in human resources or payroll department (with an Associate’s degree). 1 year of related experience in a human resources or payroll department (with BA degree).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Intermediate proficiency with computer databases. Detail-oriented. Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office, computer databases and ticketing system.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $34.629. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
