We are seeking a member of our founding team here at EATERCLUB, a fast paced startup that is reinventing foodservice distribution using curation and an in-house editorial content studio.
Be part of the founding team and take ownership of Business Development & Restaurant Relations to bring the best local and regional restaurants, hospitality groups, coffee shops on to EATERCLUB's platform via inside sales and curated sampling.
Your job within this role in Business Development & Restaurant Relations will be to found and build out this important group to get our favorite local restaurants to purchase items for their establishments from EATERCLUB.
What you’ll do
- Develop optimal post-sale processes, including helping buyers to leverage EATERCLUB brand content to help create sales velocity for restaurants and capture feedback from our Restaurant “Super Fans” to improve the use of EATERCLUB content
- High-volume warm outreach to our existing network to access decision makers
- Consistently achieve 100% of quota or above closing new high revenue customers to EATERCLUB
- Leverage warm intros from internal network to schedule time to onboard + sample
- Work on other operational issues that will impact Restaurant Members
- Identify blockers and solutions to get existing customers to order from as many of the categories from EATERCLUB on a weekly basis using process that leverage our content and curation to help convert using a digitized approach
- Identify high-level decision makers, contact, and onboarding the most important restaurants and their stakeholders in the Southern California market
- Identify blockers and solutions to get existing customers to reorder from EATERCLUB on a weekly basis using process that leverage our content and curation to help convert using a digitized approach
- Identify blockers and solutions to get these new onboarded restaurants to place their first order and first reorder from EATERCLUB leveraging our content, curation, and editorial options to help convert using a digitized approach
- The primary purpose of this position is to develop and manage customers, by selling food and non-food items to achieve sales and profitability goals
- Refine sales messaging, prospecting, qualifying, and closing techniques to be promoted to Director or VP of Business Development & Restaurant Relations in 18-24 months
- Sample products in person and secure initial orders for curated vendors on EATERCLUB
About you
- Under stand story - not just how to tell a great story, but understand the value of customers being able to share stories too
- MINIMUM One+ year of sales in the foodservice industry or food tech start up, and/or restaurant management experience
- Humble - you're excited to take on several tasks and open to feedback
- You are tech-savvy and navigate sales and internal tools quickly (Notion, Google Apps)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, or Culinary Arts is a plus
- You think by putting yourself in the shoes of the user
- Persuasive - you’re excellent at motivating potential members to see the value EATERCLUB will bring to their business
- You’re looking to learn a lot VERY quickly and make a HUGE impact on a growing team
- Being creative and thinking on your feet isn’t just something you’re good at, it’s something you love. When faced with a new challenge, failure simply isn’t an option
- You are comfortable getting your hands dirty
- You can hit the ground running, and your drive to succeed is off the charts
- You pride yourself on your excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You have a growth mindset
- Experience working in restaurants is preferred
- You will have a real impact and help define the playbook for how EATERCLUB acquires, and retains our ‘super fan’ restaurant customers
- You are self-motivated, and demonstrate creative sales tactics to engage with prospects
- A plus if you’re a former chef, GM / Assistant GM, food & beverage manager, etc.
- You’re passionate about restaurants and small businesses
- Goal oriented- you have experience exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly goals
