Emergence Software is an acquirer of third-party applications in enterprise software ecosystems. Backed by ~$20M of committed equity capital from The Pritzker Organization, our team of founders and investors is on a mission to build a suite of best-in-class apps across B2B software ecosystems.

Location: Hybrid – preference for San Francisco Bay Area or New York City Area.

Role Overview:

Emergence is looking for a Founding Investor to join our fast-growing team. You will be integrally involved with all aspects of the investment process, including evaluating, structuring, and closing acquisitions and interacting with portfolio companies and their senior management teams. Your core responsibilities will include:

•Lead transactional execution workstreams for new M&A opportunities, including financial analysis, commercial diligence, valuation, and debt-financing processes

•Oversee due diligence advisors (e.g., accounting, tax, technology, legal)

•Communicate diligencing findings with the CEO and the Board of Directors to make informed investment decisions

•Collaborate with our in-house research and sourcing teams to assist in diligence, idea generation, and deal origination

•Assist with the development and monitoring of financial reporting and other operational initiatives within portfolio companies

•Develop and implement deal execution playbook to codify best practices that streamline our acquisition process

Ideal Background and Experience:

•3+ years of deal-related experience in private equity, corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting

•Prior experience with financial modeling, due diligence, and debt-financing processes, with ability to work independently across these workstreams

•Highly analytical and organized with strong written / verbal communication skills

•Passionate about investing, with a strong understanding of fundamental business analysis, and an outstanding academic and professional record
