Job Description
We Are Hiring:
  • Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours a week. Monday - Friday.
  • Department: Security
  • Hospital: Ascension Saint Thomas
  • Location: Tennessee Market (Partially Remote)
Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Director of Security Operations for the Tennessee market supporting all hospitals, clinics and business offices. In this role you will safely secure and protect all healthcare assets, operations, employees, patients and visitors at our facilities. If you are interested, apply today!
What You Will Do:
Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies.
  • Participate in the selection of sources for needed services.
  • Recommend department's requirements for space, equipment, and financial needs.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures which guide and support the provision of services and meets productivity plans.
  • Coordinate and integrate services within the department and with other departments to fulfill the hospital strategic plan.
  • Being a credible member of the Hospital Leadership team by understanding and organizing operations to provide high quality cost effective services. Modeling leadership and team play at all junctures; providing appropriate advice and council to staff to improve their effectiveness; and representing the vision, strategy and objectives of Saint Thomas Health Services.
  • Oversee activities related to staffing including hiring, orienting, evaluating, coaching, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness; develops and implements changes required for process improvement.
  • Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding.
  • Create a shared vision with staff and demonstrates the ability to articulate it clearly. Develops, energizes and motivates staff through example, coaching and teaching. All other duties as assigned.

  • Ensure that department operations comply with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Create an culture of continuous quality improvement in service delivery and innovation.
  • Communicate clearly and can articulate difficult concepts; appropriately listens, asks questions, and shares information. Involves staffing decision making and resolution of issues.
  • Continually assess and improve departmental operations and maintains appropriate quality control programs.
What You Will Need:
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
  • Associate Safety Professional.
  • Industrial Hygienist.
  • Law Enforcement.
  • Safety Professional specializing in Healthcare.
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Industrial Hygienist.
    • Law Enforcement.
    • Safety Professional specializing in Healthcare.
    • Associate Safety Professional.
Education:
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 5 years of experience required.
Additional Preferences:
