Job Description
Bunzl Safety Group is currently seeking a Director of Operations for our facilities in Fairfield, OH. The Director of Operations will create and ensure a safe workplace, promoting a culture of safety. This person will have accountability and ownership of the day-to-day management of multiple businesses and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Maintain consistent presence throughout the Safety Group and provide responsiveness as if all employees were in the same location
  • Responsible for direct supervision of Warehouse Managers
  • Communicate often and effectively with facility teams and leaders on all issues to create an engaged work force
  • Partner with Finance to develop the operations budget and KPI’s
  • Accountability and ownership of the day-to-day management and leadership of multiple businesses and warehouse operations
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training and development while hiring top talent to improve the organization
  • Coordinate with the director of EHS to ensure safe, clean and sustainable operations
  • Partner with leadership team to lead the business in achieving strong sales performance, profitability and working capital goals, implementing solutions-based strategies, technologies and automation to improve productivity and reduce cost
  • Demonstrate leadership competency, motivate and engage employees via in-person, telephone, and virtual methods
  • Drive operational excellence and repeatable processes by implementing a continuous improvement model
  • Work closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Finance) to maximize profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Recommend process improvements and enhancements to streamline the business, increase speed and enrich our value to the customer


Requirements:


  • Minimum 10+ years of logistics and light production management experience
  • Ability to work as part of a geographically-dispersed team
  • Positive attitude; willingness and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Organized with a focus for details in a fast-paced environment
  • Order fulfillment, work order and WMS management experience required
  • Willing to travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation and systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Experience in transportation, shipping and receiving
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of ERP experience is required (Sage X3 and/or AS400 a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate thinking, logic and decision-making rationale
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all parties involved with our business
  • High degree of self-motivation and keen sense of urgency
